Good Monday Morning to you all :)
Something a little controversial today… This saying evokes a strong feeling one way or the other. Some people believe that you take at face value what others are saying and not interpret it in any other way. Others believe that if you listen to what is not said, and watch body language, you actually get a clear picture of a situation.
I use both thoughts. There were many times during my counselling sessions when I chose my words carefully. It was because of what I didn’t say that Dr Lee was able to guide the session in a particular direction. Yet when my friend said she didn’t want a birthday party to celebrate her significant birthday, I didn’t assume that she really did want on and just wasn’t prepared to say so.
But I like the saying, so will share it with you :)
Have a good week.

This is great. Enjoyed the nuance.
Thank you :)
I like it too and enjoyed your conclusion.,
My friend turned 70 at the end of January and was adamant she didn’t want a fuss when my youngest daughter and I suggested we have a party. Nevertheless, my friend’s oldest daughter and I went ahead and planned a surprise party. Sadly, my youngest daughter took her at her word and wouldn’t have anything to do with it because my friend had been almost angry when we suggested a party. But after the initial shock of seeing 30 people gathered to celebrate with her she was thrilled to bits and was very disappointed that my youngest daughter and her family didn’t come. Ah well, you can’t win ‘em all.
Nope… can’t win them all :)
Interesting about the birthday. Mine is today. If someone asked me if I wanted a party I would say no. But I think wife is planning something. In truth I suppose it would/will be nice to have some kind of celebration, though I would be okay without one. 75 today. I don’t feel old. I feel like a young man whose got something wrong with him!
Happy 75th birthday! I agree, you certainly don’t appear to be that “old”. LOL that’s just a spring chicken when you consider that Abraham didn’t become a father until he was 100 years old.
Happy Birthday, Bruce – the first in your new homeland. And ‘old’ is a state of mind, not body :)
Hi DJ, I’ve nominated you for the WordPress Family Blog Award. To find out more visit my latest post.
Ooops! It’s 2:00AM and I just woke up and realised I forgot to include the Award in my post. It’s there now. I plead a blonde moment even though I’m not blonde :-)
